Julien Dillens,
student of Rodin
In 1902, Julien Dillens — sculptor and student of Auguste Rodin — designed this villa as the very first house in the dunes of Sint-Idesbald. His signature: two sail-shaped windows on the side of the building, now immortalised in the Villa Caroline logo.
He executed among others the monument at Everard 't Serclaes in Brussels, the Laurel at the Botanical Garden, and the statue of Bernard van Orley at Petit Sablon Square.
The house has known only three owners since Dillens. The current family has owned it since 2014 and renovated it with a passion for old bricks and modern living.
